Yato TY-82451 transformer soldering iron with an output power of 200 W , which ensures very fast heating of the tip. Pointless overheating and mechanical damage to the tip quickly degrade the protective layer, which results in oxidation of the tip, which results in problems with melting the solder. The tin then does not melt and does not stick to the tip, it ball and falls. A proven method of taking care of the tip is its tinning. Dissolve and spread a small amount of tin over the tip, and then wipe it with e.g. copper shavings ( tip cleaner ). The tin layer formed in this way protects against oxidation. Transformer soldering irons are small in size, thanks to the technology of construction of the transformer in intermittent operation. In order to maintain the highest parameters of the device, the following principle should be followed: 12 seconds of soldering and 48 seconds of break. Exceeding the soldering time once, while maintaining the rules of care for the tip, will not adversely affect the further operation of the soldering iron, if we let the device cool down. When the transformer is too hot, its efficiency decreases and, at the same time, the ability to heat the tip to the right temperature decreases. Overheating of the transformer may damage it.
